Important tips for first time home buyers

To buy your own house is a very big decision. You have to consider many aspects before buying your dream house. Here are few tips for prospective first time home buyers
· Financial condition: First and foremost is can you afford the cost? Similarly can you comfortably bear other payments like insurance, various taxes, maintenance, etc? It would be far better if you could approach some financial institution and get a pre – approved loan before searching a home.
· Area and location: The house should be big enough to accommodate your current and future needs. Always look for a house in a good locality. Your house should have good resale value.
· House Age: Try to buy a new house that was built recently. Don’t consider older houses as you may have to put in a lot of money on house repairs and maintenance. Always carry out home inspection through a professional home inspector before making any agreement. If there are any serious problems with foundation etc. in the report then drop the idea of buying that home.
· Safety: Try to evaluate the safety of the area before buying a house. Investigate about the frequency of burglaries and other crimes in that area.
